Fees and Insurance
The Human Development Center does not participate with, and our clinicians are not providers for any public or private insurance plan except for Medicare. However, we have only a limited capacity available to work with Medicare patients at any given time.
We encourage you to contact your insurance company and inquire about your benefits for out-of-network outpatient mental health services, including co-pays, deductibles, and possible requirements for pre-authorization. If you wish to use health insurance to cover your expenses, you will be given the necessary paperwork, containing all the information needed (diagnosis, payment, CPT codes, provider ID numbers, etc.), to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement when your office visit is complete.
Cost for Services
The typical length of our therapy sessions is 45 minutes; however, some sessions could be as short as 30 minutes or as long as 90 minutes. The fee for the intake sessions (60 minutes) is $300.00 per session. The fee for an individual session (45 minutes) is $150.00, and a family (and couples, parent-child joint session) session is $180.00. The fee for short sessions (25-30 minutes) is $120.00. The fee for longer sessions (more than 50 minutes) is $200.00. Longer couple and family sessions are charged at $240.00.
The fee for diagnostic testing is $210.00/hour. Psychological evaluations require, in addition to the time we spend with you or with your child in the office, considerable time to interpret the results and, in particular, to write the report. The report often becomes a legal document, and the author of the report must be prepared to explain and defend every sentence in a court of law, at a school board meeting or in an institutional or agency setting. Accordingly, charges for evaluation/testing include all the time we spend on your behalf.
For statements, letters, consultations, travel time for "out of office" services, and telephone calls lasting longer than 5 minutes the charge is prorated at $210.00/hour.
In order to keep costs as low as possible, it is requested that you make payment at the beginning of each session, that is, when services are rendered. Payment for services is the direct obligation and responsibility of the client or his/her guardian. You will be billed for all the time spent with you or on your behalf.
Please also note that payment checks returned due to insufficient funds will be assessed a $40.00 fee.
Should it become necessary to make any change in fees you will be notified 90 days in advance.
